Welcome to The Counselor's Desk

At Fusion Charter, we understand the importance of nurturing not just academic success but also the overall well-being of our students. The Counselor's Desk is a dedicated space where our School Counselor, Mark Evanoff, provides valuable information, guidance/advice, and resources to support students in their journey towards wellness, mental health, and good health.

Meet Mark Evanoff, School Counselor

Hello, I'm Mark Evanoff, the School Counselor and Homeless and Foster Youth Liaison at Fusion Charter in Turlock, CA. I am a licensed and experienced school counselor who is passionate about helping students navigate the challenges they may face during their academic years. With a focus on promoting emotional well-being and personal development, I am here to support students in their academic, social, and emotional growth.

Since joining Fusion in 2016, I've dedicated myself to fostering a supportive and understanding environment for our students. As a trauma-informed practitioner, I've championed a school-wide trauma-sensitive approach, working alongside my faithful canine assistant, Pablo. Together, we tirelessly help anxious and disengaged 7th-12th grade students feel at ease, enabling them to develop new coping and communication skills while building trust with the Fusion staff.

Since 2022, Assistant Principal David Ashby and I have had the privilege of sharing our insights and success stories at several conferences, highlighting Fusion Charter's impactful weekly talking circle program. I'm particularly excited about the recent Community School grant awarded to Fusion Charter, where I will play a key role in its planning and implementation, further enhancing the support network available to our students and their families.
